La Mona Vacation Rental What form of payment do you accept? We accept via this web page, if direct reservations or long term reservations are made we only accept credit cards Visa and MasterCard, for American Express we charge and additional 3%. How far is the beach? The Beach is 2 blocks from all the buildings or a 4 minute walk. Ocean Park Beach is the widest beach in San Juan. Do you allow pets? Yes, we allow for one dog per room (up to 50 lbs). Please note that communal areas must be kept clean at all times and any disposals from pets must be grabbed and thrown at the garbage. Do your rates include all fees and taxes? Rates subject to a 7% room tax. And Cleaning fee $115.00 Do you allow children to stay? Children are welcome to stay at the La Mona as long as they comply with the maximum amount of people that each unit has. Do you offer airport pick ups? We do not offer airport Pick Ups. Please take a taxi or Uber from the airport. It is a very convenient 7 minute ride. You do not have to schedule a ride as there are plenty of cars waiting. Please inform the taxi driver that we can be searched on google maps by the name of the building you will be staying at. The ride is about $20. Uber rides will depend on the demand at the time you do the search. What are your check-in and check-out times? REGULAR CHECK-IN : After 4pm any time until check out time EARLY CHECK-IN: After 9am for $80 (based on availability). LATE-CHECK-IN: All Check-Ins after 10pm must communicate if any questions should arise regarding the check in or the unit location. REGULAR CHECK-OUT: 11am LATE CHECK-OUT: until 3pm for $80 (based on availability). What is your cancelation policy? If the booking is cancelled less than 48 hours after making the reservation a full refund will be processed, if the reservation is for 7 days or less the reservation becomes non refundable and no refund will be processed. If the reservation is cancelled within 30 days of arrival a 50% of the reservation will be refunded. All cancellations must be made through email, over the phone we do not accept any cancellations as we requiere documentation of any cancellation, changes, etc on any reservation. Please note: Different cancellation policies may apply when a reservation is made via a 3rd party booking service (e.g. Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia) Those bookings must be cancelled through the applicable provider, and cannot be cancelled through us. Is breakfast included in the rate? At the moment we do not offer any meal services. Do you have rooms with private bathrooms? Yes, all of our rooms have a private bath. Is Smoking allowed? No, Smoking is prohibited anywhere on premise. A fee of $500.00 will be applied, no exceptions. Medicinal marihuana by law can only be used on public places that authorize their consumptions. The property is a private space and we do not authorize its consumption. If a guest is seen consuming it anywhere of the premises will be reported to the police for violating the law. Are you LGBT-friendly? Absolutely What are your Front Desk Hours? We do not have a Front Desk. The property phone number is the personal cell phone of the property manager and we kindly ask that you let our property managers rest during their time off, unless emergencies happen. Leaving the key inside the unit or the loss of the unit key is not considered an emergency. For documentation purposes the only method of communication is by text messages until 7pm. After 7pm only if an emergency occurs. During the weekends (days off) please communicate only for any emergencies. ​ Do you have rooms that can sleep more than two guests? Like around an hour, depending how fast you can walk, keep in mind that the son really strikes between 11am and 3pm, the use of sunblock is recommended as keeping hydrated at all times. Do you have parking? No, there is free parking at the street on a first come first serve basis. Please do not block any of the entrances, specially the ones from the neihgbors, police will be called. You can also use a private parking, you have 2 within walking distance, Valera and Gallery Plaza for $21 a day. Do the rooms have a minibar/fridge? All of our units at the very least have a mini fridge. None of our units have minibars. Do you have a bar/restaurant? No, but right under building in 1503 Loiza (La Mona Loiza) you have Viejo Almacen (argentinian restaurant) and will open shortly a coffee shop. Please read carefully our automated emails after reserving as we provide codes to give the restaurants for discounts or free items. Are there restaurants or bars in walking distance? Yes, please see our recommendations within walking distance. Do you accommodate big groups or events? Please send us an email at events@morganreedpr.com Do you offer Beach Chairs, Beach Towels? No, we are sorry Do you offer Tours to the Bio Bay? No, we recommend www.pureadventurepr.com or www.kayakingpuertorico.com Do you offer Food Tours? We highly recommend Spoon Food Tours. Do you have TV's? Yes, in all of our units, except LM 03-17, LM 71-401, LM 71-402. Just sign in on your streaming platform of your preference. Do you offer Bike Rentals? No, but you can rent them at the different locations and you have the scooters (in Old San Juan by law can not be used) Are there laundry facilities at La Mona? Yes, the units that do not have washer and dryer can access our communal washer and dryer located in building 1502 calle Las Marias. Do you have rooms with Kitchen(ette)? Yes, all of our units have mini fridge (regular fridge are for units in buildings 1502, 1504 calle las Marias and 71 de Diego Do rooms have a safe? No Do all rooms have A/C? Yes. Where can I buy Groceries? You have Supermax within a minute walk on de Diego Avenue, there is also a 24hr Walgreens on Loiza street at 3 minute drive and a local pharmacy on Loiza street almost across from Bebo's cafe and the clothing store Playero. Are taxis operating 24 hours? Yes, We now also have Uber in Puerto Rico and recommend this service if it is within San Juan or if you will not be turning back from any point of the island as outside the metro area is harder to find an uber Does Uber operate in Puerto Rico? Yes, it does and we highly recommend it! What is the weather like in Puerto Rico? Puerto Rico has one of the most unvarying climates in the world, there are only 2 seasons in Puerto Rico: Hot and Hotter. Temperatures year-round range from 75° to 85°F (24°-29°C). Easterly trade winds pass across the island year round. Puerto Rico has a rainy season which stretches from April into November. Sporadic showers may occur around noon, but usually will last for 5-10 min When is High Travel Season in Puerto Rico? The months of December-April are considered High Season. A very good time to visit Puerto Rico is from May to June, right after the busy winter season and just before the hotter and sometimes rainy summer. Spring weather is also very pleasant, barely escaping the mid-80s on most days.
